Fitness instructors can find opportunities in gyms, leisure centres, and health clubs, working with groups and individuals in.
The work can be varied, and are likely to include:

In many clubs fitness instructors will also have routine responsibilities including sales, basic equipment maintenance, and health and safety checks of appropriate areas. The standard qualification for a fitness instructor is at level 2, which allows entry to the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs).
There are a number of ways of achieving a Level 2 qualification that will give full entry to the REPS:

Central YMCA Qualifications (CYQ) Certificate in Fitness Instructing (gym, exercise to music and aqua)

OCR Certificate in Teaching Exercise and Fitness (exercise to music, gym, and aqua)

Premier IQ Certificate in Gym Instructing

Teachers Certificate from the Keep Fit Association

PTI Class 3 Certificate from the military
These courses are offered by numerous providers, both college and private, but it is essential to be sure that any course you take leads to a recognized national qualification.
In addition to your level 2 certification you will also need to hold a current first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate. Finally, for those under 24 it is also possible to enter the field via an apprenticeship.
