Working closely with their clients, lifestyle consultants provide people with help in reaching their fitness, health and life goals. Some specialise in weight loss, healthy eating, exercise and stress management, while others focus on life changes or corporate clients.
Lifestyle consultants work with both individuals and groups to help them break down the barriers that are preventing change from taking place, helping them to set goals and achieve their aims. Whichever area they choose to specialize in, lifestyle consultants work to give their clients the confidence and ability to move forward in areas of their life they want to change.
Almost all lifestyle consultants are self-employed, and will thus need to develop their business through networking, marketing and most important of all, reputation. This is a business in which word of mouth will be your biggest selling tool, so satisfied clients are a must.
Practitioners typically earn around ?50 to ?75 a session, although at the top end there are some who make in excess of ?250 an hour, usually for corporate work.
