Black skin care

If you are looking for black skin care products, you've probably already noticed and been frustrated by how difficult it is to find a good foundation make-up for black skin in the UK.

You may have noticed that in Canada and the US,black skin care is catered for by the leading cosmetic companies. With a full range of cosmetics shades and foundation make-up for black skin, the darker shades are just nowhere to be found on UK shelves.

So where can you look to find a good foundation for black skin? Don't despair, because there are some options for finding good foundation for black skin, if you're willing to do a little extra legwork.

The good news is that if you're in search of a good foundation for black skin, some big cosmetics companies such as Estee Lauder, Prescriptives, Clinique and Bobbi Brown have begun to bring their darker bases to the UK. While at the moment it's just a few companies, this is definitely a step in the right direction.

Prescriptives has the widest range of products, and will even custom mix products for you if you ask. This is of course accompanied with a hefty price tag, but at least you'll get a product you can definitely use. If you're looking for cheaper brands, companies like Superdrug Kolor, Revlon, Mary Kay, and Marks & Spencer Perfect have also begun to make strides in expanding their darker toned product range.

Unfortunately, many other cosmetics companies have identified their main client base in the UK as being lighter skinned and claim that while there is a market for darker shades, it's not large enough for to warrant mass production. This isn't surprising, because obviously if all the bases are light coloured you're not going to have too many people with darker skin buying them! Thus it's going to seem like the demand is just for lighter shades. Until the cosmetics companies wise up to this, darker skinned people in search of cosmetic brands not available in the UK in their skin tone may have to resort to ordering them from Canada or the States. While not ideal, if you buy in bulk you can minimize postage costs.
