Bench crunch


Bench crunch - this exercise can be performed with a twist at the top for a real abs workout.

Turning slightly will stress the oblique muscles of the waist.
 
What you need for bench crunches :
  • A bench
  • OR similar height box

how to do it
  • Adopt a position on your back lying on the exercise mat. Place your lower legs over the bench
     
  • Your bottom should be positioned close to the bottom of the bench. Place your arms straight out in front (or alternative)
     
  • From this start position inhale and begin to contract the abdominal muscles. You should begin to curl your torso up
     
  • Your back should be raised approximately 4" - 8" from the floor. Exhale. Hold for a count of two before lowering and repeating
