Medicine ball crunch

This exercise can be performed with a twist at the top.

Turning slightly will stress the oblique muscles of the waist.
 
What's needed for medicine ball crunch :
  • An exercise mat
  • A weight or medicine ball

how to do it
  • Adopt a position on your back lying on the exercise mat and place your feet near your bottom
     
  • Hold a small weight or medicine ball. Extend your arms into the air and hold the 'weight' away from the body
     
  • From this start position curl your chest towards your knees using the strength of your stomach muscles only
     
  • Exhale. Hold for a count of two before slowly lower yourself on the count of four to the start position. Pause briefly and repeat
