Upright row wih barbell - This exercise is a great shoulder and back strengthener.
Using dumbbells may target the shoulders slightly more than the back |
What you need for Upright row :
- A barbell
- A weight-lifting belt

how to do it |
Grasp a moderately weighted barbell slightly less than shoulder width
Tighten your shoulders but relax your arms. Begin to pull the weight up until it rests just below your chin
Pause briefly (aim to really contract the shoulders at this point). Slowly lower the bar back to the start position
Without pausing, attempt the next repetition and repeat for the desire number of repetitions |
